Rooftop and facility signs: structure, wind load and what to send
Factory, warehouse and logistics-centre signs are read from motorways and car parks, often from several hundred metres away, so letter height, lighting and the support structure have to be planned together. We build the letters and the steel frame in our 1,400 m² plant in Bursa and ship them ready to mount, with lifting points and a numbered assembly drawing.
Large letters are made from 6063 extruded aluminium or 304/316 stainless steel with Samsung IP67 LED modules and Mean Well IP67 drivers. For rooftop use the frame is hot-dip galvanised steel sized for the wind exposure of the site; the load data is shared with your structural engineer before production.
What to send for an accurate quote
- Logo or lettering as a vector file (AI, PDF, DXF, DWG) and the target letter height or overall sign width
- Photos or drawings of the roof or facade, including parapet height and the fixing surface
- Mounting type: on the roof edge, on a free-standing frame, or flat on the cladding
- Lit or unlit, and the lighting style: front-lit, halo or dual-lit
- Delivery address and whether your own team installs
Choosing the letter height
A common sign-industry guideline is about 1 cm of letter height for every 3 m of viewing distance for comfortable reading (the familiar “1 inch per 10 feet” rule). A sign meant to be read from 150 m therefore needs letters of roughly 50 cm or more. We check the height against your site plan and send a scaled visual before you order.
Installation, service and shipping
Letters arrive with mounting templates and wiring diagrams. LED drivers are grouped in accessible service boxes, so they can be checked without taking the letters down. Illuminated parts carry a 3-year warranty.
Production takes 5–10 working days after drawing approval; large steel frames can take longer. EU and UK deliveries are packed in ISPM-15 crates, and an A.TR movement certificate is issued for EU shipments.
Frequently asked questions
Do you provide structural calculations?
We size the frame for the site's wind exposure and share the load data. Local building permits and sign-off by a structural engineer remain with the installer or building owner.
Can the sign be serviced from the roof?
Yes. Drivers sit in service boxes and the front faces can be opened, so LEDs can be replaced without dismantling the sign.
Is there a minimum size or quantity?
No. We make single rooftop logos as well as full facility packages with entrance and wayfinding signs.
